Man charged on six counts of grand theft after alleged home improvement scam in Warren County

MORNING. A WARREN COUNTY BUSINESS OWNER IS BEHIND BARS TONIGHT AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF SWINDLING HOMEOWNERS OUT OF THOUSANDS. SAMUEL NICHOLAS ZAWADSKI, OWNER OF EQUALITY CONTRACTORS, WON, HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH SIX COUNTS OF GRAND THEFT. OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL DAVE YOST SAYS ZAWADSKI ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THREE SEPARATE CONSUMERS AND FAILED TO FINISH THE JOB OR PROVIDE THE MATERIALS HE SWINDLED. A TOTAL OF $70,000. SAWATZKY IS SET TO BE ARRAIGNED ON AUGUST 25TH.

A man has been charged for his involvement in an alleged home improvement scam in Warren County.According to Ohio attorney general Dave Yost, Samuel Nicholas Zawosky, owner of Equality Contractors 1, LLC, entered into agreements with the consumers but failed to provide materials or perform the promised services. He has been charged in Warren County Common Pleas Court with six counts of grand theft, all fourth-degree felonies.”The homeowners couldn’t have known, but their dreams of building a better life were built on a stack of lies,” Yost said. “Scam artists like this need to be taught an accountability lesson on the importance of fulfilling their promises.”Three homeowners contracted with Zawosky, and he allegedly swindled a total of $32,500, $10,121.36 and $29,001 from them, respectively, according to Yost.
